Great article. We need perspective and sanity and civility. How President Biden spends his $ is his business until the Internet trolls get into it. I don’t think he asked the American people to buy him a Rolex. Being President did give him one advantage over you and I. The Rolex AD probably didn’t put him on a wait list.

Thanks Michael. Heard he bought the Datejust to move up the Daytona WL.

This is such a fantastic article and perspective. Readers who feel differently obviously did not understand (at the core) what you were getting at.

I purchased a Jaeger-Le Coultre to celebrate the election.

Tom's avatar

Lol! You celebrated a senile grifter?

Alex's avatar

Go home Tom, you’re drunk.

Tom's avatar

You go watch any unedited video of that clown and try to tell me he isn't brain dead. But, in any case, I'll be getting drunk using the stimulus tax money Uncle Joe took from you, so thank's for buying me the drinks.

Alex's avatar

Maybe you should spend it on grammar lessons instead, Tom.

Tom's avatar

Weird how you deflected my question. You won't acknowledge Biden's mental issues, and lack of ability to complete a coherent thought. Instead you tell me to go away.

Jay's avatar

The grammar doesn't bother me. It's that if he apparently doesn't know anything about Trump except what Fox feeds him, if he's calling Biden a "grifter" and complaining that Biden gave out stimulus money. (Hint: Trump signed stimulus packages and has been stealing his entire life.)

Tom's avatar

Please read this article, and then justify defending Biden.

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/spencerbrown/2022/02/10/damning-new-army-report-details-biden-failures-in-afghanistan-n2603118

This was a story from the Washington Post, reprinted on Townhall. Neither of which are right wing.

Tom's avatar

Please feel free to list Biden's accomplishments over his career, and then I'll stop talking. Please tell me the decisions he's made, and the bills he's authored that have had a positive impact on America.

Tom's avatar

Who said anything about Trump? You do realize that both Trump and Biden can be pieces of shit? The world isn't binary. Just because I think Biden is scumbag, doesn't mean I watch Fox or waive the Trump flag. I don't like the any President giving out stimulus money. We are passing out money that was either borrowed, or made up since the Government is constantly running at a deficit.

Why don't we sit down and watch some Biden speeches start to finish, and then you can convince me I'm wrong about him being a senile fool.

Tom's avatar

Or you could make an argument that Biden isn't a senile fool. I'll wait.

Great article!

AC's avatar

Well put. Would the naysayers even mention anything if he had spent $80,000 on a Ford F150 Raptor? That would have made him a "good ole boy"!

Matt Cleary's avatar

Well said, thank you!

Charlie's avatar

Well said, Tony!

Funny thing, I wear the exact same watch in 36. The man has good taste!

Brian Feltovich's avatar

Nicely put. The NYT piece did a decent job of putting Biden's watch in context, I thought. Interesting that the Twitterverse went nuts over some Nikes (Air Jordan Dior 1s?) worn by Kamala's niece's husband (whew) that are probably worth almost as much as Joe's watch and then everyone lost their minds over Bernie's handmade mittens that probably cost a hundred bucks. Complicated times.

Splendid article...and thank you for pointing out one merit of the pandemic that I had not yet contemplated: the end of e-scooter litter!!! I was really getting sick of accidentally stumbling over them while wrist spotting! Sometimes it simply takes the end of civilization to end the decline of Western civilization 🤣😂🤣. We can only hope the upcoming generation of Robinerhooders are more community conscious and considerate in whatever disruption device they cook up next with this round of cheap money...

Andre Escalier's avatar

Biden isn't moderate, he's a senile tool.

Alex's avatar

Go home Andre, you’re drunk

Bubby's avatar

Let's go Brandon!

Tom's avatar

Come up with a better rebuttal.

Vic's avatar

“Repeat after me: I, Joe Biden..”

“-No, I’n Joe Biden!”

Nigel Soames's avatar

French president Emmanuel Macron used to wear a French-made watch, until the pandemic started, now he ostentatiously goes around with sleeves rolled up and... no watch. This is sanctimonious virtue-signalling.

Aeromariner's avatar

Wrong. He's worn one recently, two days ago, in public, when talking with students

Nigel Soames's avatar

Jeez don’t be so anal. I’m not checking on the guy every day you know. It was just an observation and I’m not the first to make it https://www.lefigaro.fr/style/mais-ou-sont-passees-les-montres-d-emmanuel-macron-20200508

Aeromariner's avatar

Or you can get off your high horse, and not be crass when you are being corrected in a firm but polite manner...?

Colin Alexander Smith's avatar

Starting your response with "Wrong. ...." is neither firm nor polite, it's just clumsy and aggressive.

When you're talking to someone in front of you do you start your sentences with "Wrong!"?

On second thoughts you probably do...

Aeromariner's avatar

It was firm and polite, and it didn't deserve you sharing your favorite treatment of your body orifice

Colin Alexander Smith's avatar

I thought anal was short for "over-analytical", no?

xbarx1's avatar

I loved this. Just enough shade directed at the oh so incredibly inconsistent NYT and a dose of the obvious reasoning they should have acknowledged before going to press.

Tom's avatar

I hope all you clowns drooling over Biden’s knob are happy. The border has been eliminated. Biden can’t speak without note cards. Kameltoe is a cackling moron. But sure, let’s focus on some made up story about a watch Biden’s handlers told him to wear.

Alex's avatar

Go home Tom, you’re drunk.

Tom's avatar

Biden can’t even speak without referring to note cards. Do you think he actually knows what’s on his wrist? Politicians are simply puppets who are manufactured to appeal to your tastes. Nothing they do or say is genuine.

Vic's avatar

Good taste, my axxx. The senile guy’s mumbling and the Marines didn’t even bother to salute him
