Great article, Tony! Appreciate your discount at Watchcheck as well--I used it to get my "engagement watch" from my wife serviced-an Oris Divers 65. The entire process from shipping it out to getting it back took about one month and the watch is working great again.
good question–they list breguet and grand seiko, and i believe we even talked about a breguet they had recently. but they're not authorized for these brands like they are for others. honestly, i'm not sure about newer and smaller brands like ming and horage, and sometimes their serviceability by anyone besides the brand itself is an open question (of course earlier Mings use off-the-shelf movements so no issues there).
I wouldn't get a Lange serviced by anyone but Lange.
Just subscribed a week ago so loved seeing this article about this mysterious place in Dayton, given I am in Columbus, that keeps coming up from Fred Savage and others. Look forward to the piece on your TGS experience.
I asked about sourcing parts for the brands they're not authorized service centers for (including Rolex), and the answer was, basically, it's not easy, but Ron has a huge network and connections from his 40 years in the biz. When watchmaker peers of his retire, he'll buy up their parts stock. Stuff like this also finds its way via referral to Stoll & Co. now given its size.
They said parts are increasingly hard to find though, brands have obviously made it harder by cutting parts accounts, and Stoll jumps at every opportunity that comes its way.
Thanks for sharing!! I currently have a Tudor Submariner 9411/0 being serviced thru TGS. Great to see the facilities and people at work! Looks impressive.

great to hear, manan!
What brands will they not touch? Can a Breguet tradition go there? Can a Grand Seiko? Can a Lange? Can a Ming or Horage?
Cheers!

Just sent a watch to Stoll yesterday. What a nice write-up on their facility!
Exactly what I signed up for!
Happy holidays, Tony!

How do they source parts for Rolex?
