I’d like to see a review of the report. Those details are interesting. I also appreciated the Denver theft update. I visit Denver regularly and have been to that store so it felt more tangible. Plus the story and way it was done is almost like a movie heist.
I live here in Denver. The Hyde Park robbery was indeed news to me. I was just in the store last month. Also enjoyed your collectors piece featuring John Fields. I loved his advice. "Buy the best you can afford." Indeed! Enjoy your news letters Tony. Very informative for the most part.
I echo the call for more collector features. As a Texas based watch collector and surgeon, I'm thrilled to see a Texan anesthesiologist featured. I can't do my job without him and his expertise. :)
Those who know me in my small watch circles know that I spend an inordinate amount of time shitting on Rolex owners, because sadly many of the Rolex owners I've come into contact with own a Rolex simply to flex that they can afford to spend five figures or more to put on their wrist.
Dr. Field is obviously the opposite of that type of watch owner, and exactly the type of watch collector to which we should all aspire to become. A voracious student of history, an admirer of craftsmanship, and a stickler for details.
Thank you Dr. Field for sharing your wisdom and kudos are also due to you Tony for being able to capture his essence in so few words.
I was actually hoping for / expecting the Tudor one this Sunday following your recent IG posting. Curious to see your recent take on Tudor and the development of the brand - I’ve been through your Ranger article just last week to get myself up to speed
Great profile. Looking forward to the next ones. One insignificant comment-the good Dr is quoted as saying he has a pair of the Berettas, but the photo shows 3. Certainly has a fine eye for quality. Beautiful examples from both companies.
Love the first edition of "The Countdown" Tony. Dr. Field has a great take and you bring it all out of him in your own very interesting way. I look forward to more of this.
AP already has a head of CPO, Marc Montagne. The job posting is for someone to join his team and report to him to handle one part of the program’s operations.

there's a tudor report too!
Another great newsletter. Looking forward to additional “Countdown” content.
How about the amazing Mall security at Cherry Creek Mall! Wild!
"they stayed in the jewelry store for 8 hours, and an alarm even went off 5 hours into the heist"...yikes

I worked across the street from the cherry creek mall, crazy small world.
Love the new segment! That’s a Rolex collector’s collection if I’ve ever seen one, it’s got all the bell and whistles. Great condition too!

thank you for the kind words! glad we could intro you to another type of rolex collector, and one with so much in common, no less
Joining the fleet of "yes please" to more Countdowns!

Yes to a newsletter deep dive on the Rolex report! That would be great.

The sustainability specialist in me and the watch enthusiast are finally combined. Will definitely be reading both…
Love the new collector profile - looking forward to the next one!
more to come!
That JLC pocket watch looks like it could function as your stove burner and time your cooking
ha so true 🍳

I think the two on the right are the pair of 687s. The one on the left is the 682 that’s also mentioned.
Thanks, I realized that it was a different model shortly after I pulled the trigger on my post. My bad!
I would like to know what he thinks about glidescopes. A crutch for young trainees, or an essential part of a modern anesthesiologist's armamentarium?
Vintage airways have more character of course 😉
hey, this is a watch newsletter!
Just put in a supraglottic airway!
Tony, I love this collector profile. More content like this, please!

thanks john, appreciate it—more to come!
Would love the back story on the Hodinkee helicopter — lol

yes, of course ;)
I would also like to see a dedicated post to the Rolex report review…along with the Tudor report, too. Thanks, Tony.
